Nate Ruben created Smart Beat for his wife Sarah
In 2012, our first child was born four weeks premature, and Sarah and I had the bittersweet experience of seeing him tied to monitors for his first days of life.
Little did we know, that was just the beginning.
Knowing our son was at high risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Sarah woke fivor six times a night for the next six months to check for breathing. The lack of sleep triggered a severe episode of postpartum depression.
An electrical engineering student at the time, I knew there had to be a better way. This became my master's thesis, and later, this company.
However long and difficult the journey, its worth it because we know that now, through Smart Beat, parents like you can spend less time worrying and more time nurturing your children and yourselves.
Wishing all the best for you and your family,
